Short description of my intentions:
With my ideas I want to create an exciting and developing process. The situation when art is to be presented to a public is also something that interests me. The most important challenge in my work is to try to combine the process with the presentation. This ambition has caused a lot of different experiments.

Longer description of my work and my intentions (written 2002):

In my work I almost never come back to a certain theme. It´s something else that always come back in my work and here you can talk about discussions that aren´t bound to a theme but to the creation of a situation or a condition.

I want to create a feeling of habit but at the same time surprise. This surprise has the purpose to see the habitual in a new way - if you succeed with that you can see yourself in a new way. This moment of surprise is built on a balance between the habitual and the unhabitual. The viewer of my art can for a moment leen back and "know" what it sees. That makes it possible for the absurd, which comes as a surprise, to creep into the viewer and have some effect. To be able to surprise it´s important and sensitive with the balance. It can be realized in the form that I go out in the cityroom and do something embarassing which makes people embarassed and first just sees me but after a while sees the habitual surroundings instead and sees this in a new way. (see documentation of "The Preacher" or the "Workingday star- live").

I use conceptions that most people are used to and have an opinion about - like religions, starcult, home, promotion, tourism... It´s not about these conceptions but I use them like a tool (almost like a sign) and combine it with something. This I do to create new conditions and new pictures in my own mind.

Something which is important and caracteristic in my work is the accomplishment. The idea is important but it is as important how I accomplish it and that I do it with great thoroughness (care). Something happends there which you can´t predict before its accomplished and that´s an important part of the excitement. I can often have quite a simple idea (I always know though that the idea has a potential in relation to the context) and then carry it out with extrem thoroughness and that becomes a part of the concept because it always happends something new in the accomplishment.
See documantation of "Cloned Home", "The preacher" , "City promotion by citizens", "What if I was a rat"...

My ambition is to create "unexpected" situations. Therefore I always concider and use the already existing situation where my art is supposed to take place. I fantasise about the state of mind that the "public" might be in at a moment or in a certain place. That has the positive effect that I get ideas that I otherwise wouldn´t get. The decided situation liberates me.
I try to meet situations with my art in a direct way, as a human meets the world. I don´t think that I can add anything new to the world - I´m rather copying it, rebuilding it or creating new combinations.
